Christopher Duarte

13th pick of the 2021 NBA first round - Indiana Pacers

November 7, 2022

|Overcoming language barriers and seizing performance opportunities.

In 2014, Chris was arranged by Dante, an overseas consultant from JM Group, to come to the United States from the Dominican Republic to attend high school. At that time, he could barely speak any English, but he already had excellent performance on the basketball court.

Emerging as the rising star of the best guards.

Dante highly recognized Chris's abilities and constantly sought better basketball environments for him. Originally, Chris chose Northwest Florida States University for academics, but with the guidance and recommendation of his consultant, he was able to enter the more competitive basketball program at the University of Oregon, officially starting his career in NCAA Division I Men's Basketball. His performance was remarkable, winning numerous awards during his four years in college, including the Jerry West Award, one of the highest honors for a college men's basketball scoring guard. In the same year, he was selected by the Indiana Pacers in the 13th overall pick of the NBA draft.

|Developing the future stars of Asia.

During the counseling process, JM Group's consultant team deeply realized that the sports environment in the United States requires a lot of time and effort to establish connections and expand resources in order to more efficiently help players achieve better careers. With our extensive counseling experience in the United States, we hope to bring these resources back to Taiwan or other Asian regions and cultivate another Asian sports hero in the future.
